02 June, 2013Quick review this one
Food was really good - really enjoyed it. Good value too. I'm English so we don't have authentic Mexican food to compare to but this is really nice tasting food.

20 January, 2013This is the closest thing to authentic Mexican food in Cambodia! I am from California and it was like a sight for sore eyes when seeing the menu. I had the chicken enchiladas and my boyfriend had the burrito. Everything was great and the ambiance of the restaurant was nice as well - Friendly staff and convenient location. On top of this they have good Tequila and even Mezcal! I will be a regular.

25 November, 2012Relatively new place opposite Magnolia in street 51. We have been there several times and it is our first choice for Mexican food in Phnom Penh. Consistent quality, good and quick service and relaxed atmosphere. For the quality and portions, the prices are very reasonable. It is a great place for a quick quality meal with the kids, enough choice for all on the menu. You can define yourself how hot/spicey it should be. Personally, love the freshness of ingredients, the small side-plates, the jalapeños, and the fast service. Favourite dish I guess is the chicken fajita, sizzling but also the quesadillas and nachos are popular choices. Love the classic margarita!

Hungrygowhere 885 Thank you for your review. We will pass that to restaurant owner. Suppose it somehow shows when the place is run by experienced owner that knows what good food and good service are. We like this place too!03 December 2012 11:30

pdv Yesterday evening we went here again. The owners were not around and the good news is: service and food were just as good as always and the margaritas are still the best in town. Congrats to the owners!04 February 2013 12:43

18 August, 2012Mexican restaurants seem to be popping up all over town these days, threatening some of the old guard tex-mex / pub grub style places that had the market cornered for some time.
Taqueria Corona is an unpretentious little spot opposite Magnolia on Street 51. I tried it for lunch with a friend and can definately give it a big thumbs up.
Decor is bright and cheerful. The waiting staff seem eager to please and well trained.
Food is great! We shared a plate of nachos with chorizo to start with. Served hot, with salsa, sour cream, melted cheese and a side order of home made hot sauce, they were really good. Next up for me was the Baha Fish Tacos. An excellent choice - crispy fish with soft tacos, cheese salad and more of that hot sauce. A side order of black beans to go along.
All in all, a great little spot to cater for your mexican craving!

09 August, 2012While it may be a bit more expensive than most restaurants I frequent, it is well worth it for delicious Mexican food. Some of the best service I have experienced here. It clearly shows, as both times I have been (once for lunch, once for dinner) they have had quite a few full tables. The chips and salsa are incredible (but HUGE, so maybe split them or split an entree!) and I have also had both the chicken and beef fajitas. Homemade hot sauce is a great touch as well. They really paid attention to all the small details with this place. I will be back again and again! Just make sure you note the hours, as the first time I forgot when I wanted a late lunch at 3pm! Open 11:30-2 and 6-10, I believe.

30 July, 2012Have visited twice so far but will definitely be back.
First time I ordered tacos. They were delicious and were served with generous portions of rice and black beans.
The second time I went with my roomie and we split the chips and salsa and one order of beef fajitas. Both were incredible. We also ordered sangrias - delicious. The service is exceptional, they checked up a couple of times to make sure we had plenty of tortillas (since we split the fajitas).
The owners did an excellent job with the building. The decor and ambience is perfect for a cozy little Mexican restaurant.
No complaints, a wonderful new dining experience in the Penh.
Oh a quick side note - they are only open for lunch and dinner and closed for a few hours in the afternoon so be sure to go between 11:30 and 2 or 6 and 10. Also closed for lunch on Sundays!
Enjoy!

15 June, 2012This new Mexican cafe will impress.
Pleasant atmosphere, great designed wall lights, good service & delicious food. We had Nachos with ground beef (tender & tasty) & black beans ($4.75), well presented so that you can mix your own combinations with the delicious corn chips, plenty of salsa & sour cream & melted cheese. The Quesadilas, Jalepeno & Cheese was tasty & zesty with plenty of cheese & generous sour cream & salsa ($4.50, I personally would have liked a little crispy). Mazatlan Salad of greens, onion, cucumbers & tortilla chips with Vinaigrette($4), was a large bowl, excellent tortillas that stayed crispy & very good dressing to accompany the fresh salad veg.
The food is excellent...it's a good place to have lunch, or linger in the evening hours with a group of friends. There were various drink specials on a board to tempt you to stay longer. The background music was pleasant, it was casual & comfortable, the owner polite, his partner is a delight & provides good service. Open for lunch 11am-2pm, then dinner 6-10pm & they do Take-Away .
I personally think they should charge more for the food...Mexican food ingredients are expensive & this is quality from start to finish, & we could not finish everything!

08 June, 2012The restaurant decoration is very nice, giving Mexican ambience. Staff was friendly (their outfit is very cute). The American owner is also in the kitchen cooking food himself.
Food : A group of us was there yesterday. We ordered things to share. Everything was delicious. For burrito sauce, you can request how spicy you want it to be. Little detail matters, every tables have the proper Mexican pepper sauce on. Would be nice to have guacamole in the menu though.
